Salary                          :           R600k-R800k

 The job purpose of the Senior Manager: Governance Advisory Services for the company, is to create and maintain governance thought leadership and research; and provide governance advisory services to the company’s members and clients.


  • Providing a central source of guidance and advice to the company’s members on matters of corporate law and governance
  • Performing, overseeing and growing Corporate Governance Advisory Services
  • Compiling, reviewing and maintaining company thought leadership and research publications
  • Writing and publishing regular topical legal/governance articles
  • Performing client presentations and other speaking engagements
  • Representing the company on selected Forums and Committees and providing relevant technical input
  • Providing internal legal support to the company where necessary (contract reviews and general assistance)
  • Promoting of company and services to all potential clients / members
  • Internal reporting on department financial and delivery performance

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Law, preferably post graduate with company law and/or governance related
  • Admitted attorney
  • Minimum of 3 years post qualification relevant experience
  • Management level experience – project management and staff or department oversight
  • Sound knowledge of the Companies Act (2008)
  • Knowledge of the King Reports on Corporate Governance preferable
  • Experience in research and drafting of guidance notes, reports, papers and articles
  • Corporate/commercial law consulting and advisory
  • Member queries or professional body experience will be advantageous
  • Providing commentary on proposed legislation and regulation changes
  • Project Management

  • Business writing and reporting (budgets, forecasts, monthly department reporting to Manco and Exco)
